Mr. Boontuck Wungcharoen has been elected as Chairman of Thai Banker’s Association on 30 April 2014 and is the Chief Executive Officer of TMB Bank Public Company Limited (TMB) since July 2008 when ING Bank of the Netherlands became its strategic investor. 
 
Mr. Boontuck has been highly credited for successfully leading the transformation of TMB Bank to the forefront of Thai banking sector.  Focusing on delivering the unmet or underserved customers’ needs, Mr. Boontuck has influenced the development of the Thai banking sectors across customer segments.  Consistent with Make THE Difference brand, Mr.Boontuck worked with industry leaders, regulators and customers to bring about meaningful developments including many deposit and transactional banking innovations. 
 
With more than 30 years of banking experience, Mr. Boontuck is one of the most well-known bankers in Thailand.  Previously he served as Executive Vice President of Kasikorn Bank, formerly known as Thai Farmers Bank.  After the Asian financial crisis, he contributed to reviving the health of financial service sector through customer focus.  Notably, he helped develop the market in the areas of corporate banking, small and medium enterprise customers, as well as capital markets.
 
Mr. Boontuck Wungcharoen received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in International Business and Finance from the University of New York, USA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University.  He completed the Director Accreditation Program from the Thai Institute of Directors Association.  Mr. Boontuck has also been recently appointed to Thailand’s Board of Investment.
